Group of Artists from Casterton, country Victoria, and further afield in Australia
Collin Tenney was thrilled to be awarded Best in Show and Best Acrylic for his portrait tiled ‘Sam’ in this year’s Coleraine Art and Photography Show, held in August. Inspired by a picture in a magazine, Collin’s portrait is a vibrant, emotive and well executed interpretation of a young man.
Collin considers himself fortunate to be able to paint and pursue his creative interests. His portfolio of works is continually growing while Collin spends many hours at work in his studio behind his gallery,The Sandford Red Door Gallery. His dedication is paying off. With an increasing number of awards for his efforts, it is obvious he is attracting the judges’ attention. Yes, painting is its own reward, but acknowledgement for an artist’s skill and love for his chosen medium is always an added and most welcome bonus.
The show annually draws entries from around the district and beyond, and this year was no exception, with Artists of the Valley was well represented in the three-day event. Our own Patricia O’Connell was this year’s guest artist, with a selection of her works on view.
