Group of Artists from Casterton, country Victoria, and further afield in Australia
To start off the new year, member artists of Gorman’s Art Gallery (which include many Artists of the Valley members) were given the theme of ‘Local Inspiration’. The call for participation drew 25 entries in various styles, mediums and subject matter, all depicting aspects of the area in which we live.
A blind judging was conducted by Troy Robbins, owner and operator of Casterton’s Glenelg Inn. Not an artist himself, Troy proved to have a keen eye and appreciation for Jo Taylor’s painting of one of the region’s iconic views. Jo, a member of both Artists of the Valley and Gorman’s Art Gallery, has several artworks available for viewing at the moment.
Congratulations to Jo on her winning entry and a sincere thanks to Troy for taking time out to be the judge of this quarter’s Art Competition.
The opening on Friday 4th march drew plenty of interest for locals and visitors alike. The exhibition will run for several weeks, offering added interest to an already eclectic range of artworks on show at the gallery.
